Learn to Grow Figs and Pomegranates
GreenFriends Farm Workshop
Saturday February 17, 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Join us at GreenFriends Farm to learn how to propagate fig and pomegranate trees from cuttings, and take home a baby tree to start your own nursery for Mother Nature.
Planting fruit trees in your garden will provide fresh fruit, attract birds and butterflies, add seasonal beauty with abundant flowers, and contribute to a healthy ecosystem by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing fresh oxygen. Pomegranates and figs are some of the easiest to grow, low maintenance fruit trees for the Bay Area.

About the Instructors
Experienced gardeners Mary Beth and Chetana will lead the workshop. As MA Center LA GreenFriends coordinators, they have been instrumental with the 5,000 Trees Project – teaching participants in the Los Angeles area how to propagate and plant different types of fruit trees using simple techniques, and organizing tree adoptions for individuals and organizations.
Plant trees. It is a blessing to do so. Trees outlive us and provide fruit and shade to coming generations. Together we can restore nature’s beauty to the face of the world. Planting a tree is selfless service to society. – Amma
