Saturday, August 5th Seva

The team was busy adding mulch to the many fruit trees on the first Saturday of the month. Mulch gets placed around the tree perimeter to curb evaporation and protect the soil from the Sun.

We all love a cold drink on a hot summer day. And what about the bees? Do they drink water? Yes, bees drink water! They use it to regulate the temperature of the hive, feed young bees, and dilute stored honey. You can help the bees by creating a water source for them at home. Just remember, bees can’t swim! So remember to put sticks, rocks, or floating plants in the water source so the bees have something to land on while they drink.

The team was also busy harvesting plums.
